5 Questions to ask when hiring wedding music

Think 20 years. Can you imagine trying to find musicians for a wedding reception in 1987? There was no Internet, no streaming video and audio online: No video. The research was mainly limited to your local yellow pages or nights run throughout the city so you can listen to prospective DJs or live bands in clubs.

If your city (or other relative) were not a band or DJ you liked, you had no chance. There was not viable to locate all performances across the country. Fortunately, today we have the Internet. This allows you to have a great selection of artists at your disposal, which can be previewed either through their own sites or sites gig-booking. However, this huge selection and wide geographic distribution leads to question. Here are the top 5 questions you might ask when hiring performers for your wedding.

1. Can I hear audio clips your music?

There really is no excuse for a professional group, soloist, DJ or performer others not offer online audio clips. They are inexpensive to create and easy to download. With a few musicians, there is a base price for the concert, and then there are add-ons. If the artist goes over a certain distance, there could be a supplement. You are responsible to cover expenses, including airfare travel, mileage for driving, or hotel rooms, if artists have to spend the night, etc.? Is this a light show cost more? Do emcee services mean additional charges? Better to ask now than be shocked by the result.
