Joseph was acquired by Potiphar, a powerful Egyptian who put him in command of his household. But In the middle of what had started to be good fortune for Joseph, Potiphar's better half attempted to seduce him. When he refused her advances, she charged him of attempting to rape her, and Joseph was thrown back in prison, though he had done nothing wrong.
How did Joseph keep his sanity? How did he keep from becoming annoyed at God and filled with hate in the mad, unstable world he was living in?
One reason I suspect Joseph had emotional stability was because regardless of what happened to him, he kept his eyes on the Lord and declined to get sour. When his bros sold him into slavery, he didn't get sour. Why? Because he's the sole One who can absorb the punishment that revenge brings. Joseph accepted that, and he did not waste his time trying to get even with his enemies.
no matter what folks did to Joseph, he just kept moving forward with God.
Look at John the Baptist's life. John is the one who baptized the Lord in the Jordan brook and saw the Lord God Almighty descend on Him in the shape of a dove. John heard a Voice from heaven say,'This is my beloved boy in whom I'm well pleased' ( Matthew 3:17 ).
But at the end of his life, when John was sitting in a prison cell about to die for his faith, all of a sudden he started to query whether Jesus was really the Messiah ( Matthew 11:2,3 ). Paul said in II Corinthians 4:7, We have this treasure in earthen vessels. He is talking about the human frailty that each one of us has because we are humans. We don't always have a clear understanding of things. First Corinthians 13:12 asserts, We see through a glass darkly. What was the answer John received to his questions? Matthew 11:4,5 NKJV shows us that Jesus did not condemn John's doubt. To explain,'Tell John that I am the One!'
